We are excited to announce a brand new opportunity at UHNM for a highly skilled, dynamic and motivated Speech and Language Therapist to lead our Critical Care Speech and Language Therapy team at UHNM.
The post involves working with a range of disciplines as part of the dynamic and innovative Critical Care Rehabilitation Team. The post holder will manage a varied caseload of patients with communication difficulties and dysphagia with a particular focus on ventilator dependent patients and tracheostomy. Videofluoroscopy of swallowing (VFS) and Fibreoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) is an essential part of this role which supports our combined goal to provide an excellent standard of care across all pathways, with patient welfare at the heart of everything we do., The post holder will be the Clinical Lead in the field of Critical Care within the Speech and Language Therapy Team. The post holder will provide and lead highly specialist Speech and Language Therapy input to Critical Care at UHNM, also providing clinical and operational leadership and management to support the Speech and Language Team. The post holder will also be key to the development of wider Speech and Language Therapy services at UHNM and support provision of safe practice as part of the AHP and Quality Strategy. The post holder will deputise for the Head of Speech and Language Therapy as required.as required.
