Full Job Description

The post is based at New Horizons in Slough to have overall responsibility for the smooth and efficient management and day to day running of the Slough CRHTT Spoke

The post holder will be a registered clinician (nurse, OT, social worker, psychologist etc) with responsibility for the leadership, operational management, and development of CRHTT for people with mental health illnesses. The role involves working closely with people using the service, their families and carers, community-based teams, ICBs, primary care, other health and social services, and the voluntary sector to ensure that the service provided is of a high quality, is responsive to local need and demonstrates value for money

Main duties of the job

  • In the role of expert practitioner, to provide clinical leadership to the Spoke to enable the provision of a defined, recovery-focused service. It is expected that this post will work collaboratively with the Consultant Psychologists, Consultant Psychiatrists, Nurse and Associate Nurse Consultant and Service Managers as a senior clinical leadership team across the locality.


  • Work as an autonomous practitioner, working to the Head of Service to deliver a range of objectives relating specifically to mental health urgent care, but also in relation to best clinical standards and practice.


  • To provide advanced support, knowledge and clinical skills to staff and patients within the service.


  • Provide expert supervision for staff working within the service area, e.g. formal supervision, case conferences, professional nurse advocacy.


  • To provide expert practice, professional and clinical leadership through assessment, planning and implementation of highly specialised and appropriate programmes of care.


  • In conjunction with the Service Manager, to develop highly specialised programmes of care and provide highly specialised advice concerning care. in specialist area.

  • To work as a Advanced Practitioner with an extended role within the relevant national framework and Trust protocol, in accordance with qualification and competence to practice.
