With the retirement of both of our highly regarded and respected Chief Medical Officers, this is a rare opportunity to create a new executive medical leadership team to help take us forward on our journey for patient centred care and the best clinical outcomes, delivered through excellent research, education, and innovation, with a resolute focus on quality, safety and effectiveness., We are now appointing a new Chief Medical Officer (Operations) who will take the executive lead on all aspects of quality and safety, medical workforce development and leadership, and work closely with our Clinical Directors to ensure assurance and support for all aspects of clinical services. The postholder will be a member of the Shelford Group Medical Director's Group and work interchangeably with the new Chief Medical Officer (Development), and with a wide range of external organisations and agencies to support partnership working and collaboration, clinical pathway redesign, and representing STH on the wider stage. As one of the most senior clinical leaders in the NHS, your expertise and leadership will be crucial in providing leadership across STH and the wider system, as well as shaping and influencing strategic direction at the national level.
