Full Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a confident & compassionate Clinical Nurse Specialist., The Adult Eating Disorder Team are looking for a motivated Clinical Nurse Specialist with the right skills to complement our multidisciplinary team based in Cambridge.You will work within our FREED team helping young people to receive quick and early interventions of care. As a new service there will be lots of opportunity for contributing to the new model of care for eating disorders in the region. Along with care co-ordination and delivery of treatment to our mainstream patients.
We will provide Supervision, reflective practice, training, and opportunities for professional development. We are passionate about improving standards and service user/carer experiences., The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) is a clinical leader who ensures that the highest standards of evidenced-based nursing care are provided. The post holder will provide inspirational specialist nursing leadership within the team, including specialist assessments, psychological therapies and nursing interventions to service users, families and carers.
This post is central to the delivery of clinically based therapy, support, education, and training working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.There will be opportunities to work within our new Community Intensive Support Team, an exciting new pathway to reduce inpatient admissions and length of admissions by supporting service users, families and carers in the community towards their stabilisation/recovery whilst remaining in their home environment.
Our FREED pathway (First episode Rapid Early intervention for Eating Disorders) is also looking for FREED Champions to provide leadership, assessment, triage and intervention skills towards this pathway.
CNS's can also be trained in medical monitoring and phlebotomy skills to contribute to the physical and mental health of our patients to the highest level.
The post holder will develop and embed evidence based clinical nursing practice within the team.
The CNS is a clinical specialist in adult mental health and is knowledgeable and skilled in working with groups and teams.
We would love to meet you if you have experience working with young people with eating disorders but also If you're an experienced nurse who hasn't worked in eating disorders before, you will have many transferable skills to bring to the role and our experienced team members can support you to grow and develop.
