Full Job Description

Are you a nurse specialist who is passionate about supporting children and young people with a diagnosis of autism and/or learning disability in mental health crisis?, As our community nurse specialist, you will lead the nursing team and play a key role in formulating and directing interventions. You will be responsible for providing assessment and behavioural/ therapeutic treatment programmes and undertake supervision. You will liaise with and work collaboratively with other agencies according to the needs of the young person.

The Children's Intensive Support Team (IST) for Coventry and Warwickshire is expanding, and we have a new opportunity for a community nurse specialist to join the team. This is an exciting time at the Trust, as we expand our offer to become the lead provider locally for integrated children's services.

The IST is a specialist multi-disciplinary team, consisting of occupational therapists, psychologists, speech and language therapists and nurses. The team started as a pilot project over six years ago and aims to reduce the number of children with autism and/ or a learning disability in hospital with mental health needs., At Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust (CWPT), we deliver a wide range of physical, mental health, learning disability and autism services, and are proud to serve communities across Coventry, Warwickshire and beyond.
