Clinical Nurse Specialist - Cardiology

Experience working in cardiology is essential.

The CNS Team work independently within the Trust and are responsible for assessing and managing patients who have suspected/confirmed Acute Coronary Syndromes, whilst also providing advice and guidance on all aspects of Cardiology to the wider hospital, supported by the Cardiology Medical Team.

The successful candidate will work closely with ED, AAU, CCU and the Cardiology ward and be expected to regularly liaise with the wider multi-disciplinary teams.

The team also provide a Nurse led cardioversion service and Nurse led Rapid Access Angina clinics.

The successful candidate will need to have excellent communication and organisational skills, the ability to prioritise their workload and adapt to an ever changing environment and be able to work well under pressure whilst maintaining a high standard of care., The main duties of the role include:

Independently Assessing, diagnosing and treating, where appropriate, patients presenting acutely to the Trust with chest pain.

Acting as a resource for the wider trust teams to access for advice.

Liaising with the wider Cardiology and Multi Disciplinary Team regarding best practice for the patients in your care.

Contributing to various meetings as appropriate.

Providing an independent Nurse Led Rapid Access Angina Clinic.

Providing an Independent Nurse Led Cardioversion Service.

Responsible for maintaining up to date knowledge in Cardiology.

Completing National Audit data for submission
