Full Job Description

We are seeking three qualified nurses (RN or RSCN or RMN or RLDN) to join our team as Clinical Nurse Specialists in our community paediatric service. This role involves assessing and supporting children/ young people with neurodevelopment disorders including prescribing and monitoring the effect of medication for the treatment of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) .

The role is varied, and you will be working with a multi-agency team made up of Clinical Nurse Specialists and Paediatricians and Support Workers.

The post holder will either have a Non-Medical Prescribing qualification or be willing to undertake this in the first year. The ideal candidate will have an additional post registration training Specialist Community Practitioner qualification - Health Visiting or School Nursing and consolidated experience as a band 6 practitioner.

This is a highly specialist post and all training will be provided for the right candidate.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work within a multi-disciplinary team to contribute to the assessment, diagnosis, and support of children with neurodevelopmental disorders, including Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This will include undertaking medication reviews which involve independent prescribing.

The post holder will contribute to the redesign and development of services and pathways delivered from the Child Development Centre to meet the needs of the children.
