Full Job Description

You will work as a core member of the multidisciplinary team providing high standards of care and advice to neuro oncology and skull base tumour patients, hosting nurse led clinics and participating in audit and research. You will join a team of professionals with expert knowledge in the investigation and treatment of patients who may have a brain tumour.
The Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust is the only specialist hospital trust in the UK dedicated to providing comprehensive neurology, neurosurgery, spinal and pain management services., The post holder will have a role in the co-ordination and day to day management of brain and CNS tumour patients undergoing surgery to ensure a high standard of service provision. The post holder will provide education, counselling,and practical support for patients, their families and healthcare professionals.
They will work across organisational boundaries and with primary care to ensure a seamless service from diagnosis and throughout the surgical pathway to discharging of patients.
The post holder will engage in discussions in multidisciplinary team meetings, where appropriate will present patients, acting as an advocate for all patients with a diagnosis of brain tumours and contributing to adult services where appropriate.
They will provide a highly developed specialist knowledge underpinned by theory and experience as per the NICE guidelines.

+ First level degree qualification or equivalen
+ Evidence of ongoing continued professional development
+ Advanced communication skills training or prepared to work towards
Knowledge & Experience
+ Management of patients with complex needs.
+ Evidence of good communication skills.
+ Experience of multi-professional working.
+ 2 years' post registration experience within either clinical settings of neurosurgery , neurology and oncology or palliative care.
