Full Job Description

To lead a team in an innovative approach to the development, implementation and evaluation of a seamless service within Paediatric Endocrinology, which is aimed at continuously improving standards of patient care, advancing the boundaries of professional nursing practice and facilitating multi-professional working. This will be achieved through the initiation of clinical practice, management, education, research and audit activities taking in to account directorate, corporate and national policy and within the clinical governance framework.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced children's nurse with knowledge of caring for children with various endocrinological diagnoses to join our specialist team at The Royal London Hospital. Our specialties include, but not limited to Hypothyroidism, Cushing's syndrome, congenital adrenal hyperplasia, and familial endocrine tumour syndromes.

Barts Health supports the Pregnancy Loss Pledge and commits to supporting their staff through the distress of miscarriage., The Royal London Children's Hospital is a specialist tertiary paediatric hospital treating children with many specialties including gastroenterology, diabetes, oncology, neurology, respiratory, trauma/surgery amongst others. We are located in Whitechapel with excellent links to public transportation.
The successful candidate will require excellent communication skills and will be expected to work autonomously, with the support of the multi-disciplinary team. The candidate should have previous CNS experience of caring for patients with endocrinology disorders and an interest in working with a specialist team. They will demonstrate a willingness to enhance their skills and knowledge and the vision and enthusiasm to contribute to the specialist nursing service and its patients. The candidate should be able to work both autonomously and with the wider team and external partners/network.
