Full Job Description

We have an exciting nurse specialist opportunity to join an established Inherited Cardiac Conditions (ICC) service in a focusing on sudden cardiac death (SCD) families and patients who experience out of hospital cardiac arrest. The successful candidate would work with the established regional group, clinicians and pathologists across the sector to improve associated cardiovascular pathways. Along with helping to coordinate the clinical ICC services, the project would also involve working with coroners, pathologists and intensive care units where patients with aborted sudden cardiac death are cared for., The job is a 12-month fixed term post based at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospitals but the role will involve cross-site work at King's College Hospital and other Network sites. The role will be to help coordinate effective pathways within the sector by working with the coronial system, national charities and the clinicians involved (cardiac and intensive care teams, genetic consultants, nurses and counsellors) with sudden cardiac death., The post holder will be expected to participate in the strategic development of the wider Inherited Cardiac Conditions service by:

Establishing and developing relationships with key stakeholders involved in the management of the Inherited Cardiac Conditions service both internally and externally.

Being part of the overall strategy and vision in clinical practice for the network teams working across the GMSA.

Actively disseminating best practice through presentations and participating in nursing research and national working parties.

Ensuring effective Standard Operating Procedures are in place for delivery of service.
