Full Job Description

We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic, and motivated Clinical Nurse Specialist nurse to join the Renal Transplant Team at Barts Health NHS Trust in the specialist medicine division of renal and diabetes.

Bart's Health is home to one of the UK's largest renal units, offering nurses the unique opportunity to work across a wide variety of clinical specialties and to advance their professional development.Our world class services include Medical, Surgical, Transplantation, Community Dialysis, Acute Dialysis, Research, Palliative Care, Renal Assessment, Living Donation, Acute Kidney Injury and Chronic Kidney Disease, based at our brand new hospital building near the City of London.You should possess excellent communication skills and be committed to delivering safe and compassionate care.

Working closely with the post-transplant and living donor nursing team the post holder is responsible for the delivery of a consistently high standard of care to meet patient needs and Unit objectives whilst working closely with the multi-disciplinary team. The post holder will demonstrate clinical expertise within transplantation in the assessment, planning, and delivery of care using a holistic approach. The post holder must possess fundamental management and facilitation skills in order to co-ordinate and support the timely assessment of patients for transplantation.

Main duties of the job

This post will form part of the Transplant Team, mainly focused on the post-transplant care.

To act as an effective role model for safe nursing practice.

To lead by example as the expert practitioner providing organisation and leadership to the multi-professional team.

To support and coordinate the development of post registration nursing staff by co-ordinating assessments of learning within the department.

To actively promote and contribute to inter-professional learning activities across the renal service and Trust wide.
