Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and enthusiastic trained nurse to join our established Coventry & Warwickshire Community TB Service. You will be working as part of the multi-disciplinary team providing high quality TB care in collaboration with other services within both the acute and primary care setting to provide a seamless service for people receiving TB treatment, their contacts and the wider community in accordance with nationally and locally agreed guidelines., Being able to have a caseload and support team with thier caseloads. Leading and supporting Outbreak work and TB complex cluster work. Supporting and managing TB clinics such as Screening, BCG and New Entrant Work. Collaborating with UKHSA and TB case findings. Lead and support CoHort review.

  • Works collaboratively with the multi professional team to develop and maintain a strategy relating to the care of patients in specialist area.
  • Works both as an independent practitioner, and as an effective member of the wider interdisciplinary clinical team. Demonstrates excellent communication ability.
  • Utilises an agreed service plan as a framework for service delivery. Leads clinical audit in own area.
  • Uses data from audit / quality monitoring/ patient satisfaction questionnaires /service review to inform clinical governance. Utilises information to ensure that services are responsive to patient needs. Ensures patients are consulted in the development of services.
  • When appropriate, manages people and financial resources to ensure the effective operation of the team for which he/ she is responsible.
  • Is responsible for ensuring own clinical practice complies with Data Protection/ Confidentiality/ Caldicott principles.

    This is a fantastic opportunity for a suitable candidate wanting to develop their TB knowledge and to develop skills to become an autonomous practitioner within a specialist area of Tuberculosis. You must have the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary team. The successful applicant will have their own case load of patients and will run nurse led clinics for treatment initiation and monitoring of patient with latent TB. As part of the TB team you will be involved with contact tracing, BCG clinics and New Entrant Screening. Also be able to carry pot outreach and Awreness work as required. Excellent communication skills and an ability to work with people with diverse health and social needs are essential.
  • A full and valid UK driving licence with daily access to a car for work purposes is essential for this post.
