Clinical Orderly

Cleaning Cleaning and remaking of all patients' beds and trolleys once vacated. Cleaning of the bed space to include locker, chair, bed table. Cleaning of all fixtures and fittings within patient bed-space. Cleaning of patient entertainment and lighting over bedside. Dust control/ damp mopping floor within patient bed-space. Check curtains for date and cleanliness and replace as necessary. To clean all patient equipment as listed and defined by Matron of the area. Record the cleaning of all patient related equipment. To ensure correct use of of all materials, machinery, equipment as per Cleaning policies and procedures. To adhere to NHS Cleaning standards and colour coding requirements. Removal of all soiled linen to designated area following legislative requirements. General Adhere to Uniform policy. Bed safety checks and to report mechanical defects on machines and environmental issues of the ward. Ensure observation of infection control policy. Be compliant with in service training as
required. Liaise with stores and HSDU re stock levels. Date checking and record keeping of expiry dates of material stock. Supporting Matron with updating posters, laminating and filing as appropriate to role. Additional duties Transferring of samples within departments. Checking battery life of hoists and reporting accordingly.
