Full Job Description

The Perfusion department at Guy's and St Thomas' performs approximately 1200 adult and paediatric cardiac surgical bypass procedures per year whilst providing Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation support for acute respiratory failure for both adults and paediatrics. Other services supported include Trans Catheter Aortic Valve Surgery, Laser Lead Extractions and Intra Aortic Balloon Pump therapy., An opportunity has arisen within the department to appoint a new Clinical Perfusion Specialist.

The successful candidate will have adult perfusion post qualification experience and join the team in its ongoing commitment to support cardiac surgery, adult ECMO services and a paediatric ECMO service.

Applicants to this post would also ideally have some ECMO and/or paediatric experience, although training and mentoring in either/both will be given as and where required.

Guy's & St Thomas' Cardiovascular Department is one of the largest in the United Kingdom and within the directorate is the Department of Clinical Perfusionbased at St Thomas' Hospital., Applicants must hold the Society of Perfusionists accreditation certificate and be registered with the college of Clinical Perfusion Scientists.
