Full Job Description

As part of the central Procurement Service and reporting into the Head of Operations, the Clinical Procurement Specialist Nurse will be responsible for the delivery of a number of procurement activities across the Trust, Northumbria Healthcare Facilities Management and Northumbria Primary Care., As a key member of our centralised Procurement Service, this role will focus on the delivery of a wide portfolio of clinically focused procurement requirements, including projects of both a capital & revenue nature, with value-based approach to benefits realisation. The role will also act as a key enabler and support coordinated & enhanced delivery of both clinical and corporate objectives.

The successful applicant(s) will demonstrate an ability to draw on a strong basis of clinical experience, a set of clinically focused procurement skills, commercial business acumen and specific experience in the delivery of clinical driven procurement projects and processes, developed over a number of years working in the public sector., We are seeking candidates who can demonstrate experience in undertaking clinically beneficial public sector procurement projects and delivering commercial benefits using a range of appropriate procurement processes. In addition, the ability to lead project specific engagement with a wide range of stakeholders, including a broad range of clinical colleagues and teams, and the ability to manage individual workload and priorities.

We manage three major locality hospitals at North Tyneside, Wansbeck and Hexham, plus a number of smaller community hospitals and clinics from Tynemouth to Berwick on Tweed, in addition to our state-of-the-art Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, the first of its kind in England. We also care for people in their homes and provide services from facilities in local communities such as health centres. We give people greater choice and control over their care to help them to live independently at home and avoid hospital admission where appropriate.
