Full Job Description

This is a post to support the work of Clinical Procurement. Healthcare professional registration is required so that experience, knowledge and skills can be used to easily connect with clinicians. The post holder will be a part of the Procurement and Supplies team, offering advice on clinically related consumables, working closely with specialist groups within the hospitals and linking with the commercial sector - Suppliers and their representatives. The aim to recommend and introduce clinical products, that are efficient and effective and promote compliance on such changes. This post is suited to a problem solver, determined questioner, a juggler of priorities, an interpreter of data as an adjunct to developing a picture and most of all a good communicator. Supporting the coverage of £220m non-pay spend across the UHL Trust, ensuring strategies for product and supplier standardisation, deliver value for money and improved services for procurement categories. Reporting to the Clinical Procurement Advisor, the post holder is responsible for making the vital link between Clinicians and Procurement. To enable informed, best value decision making in relation to clinical products, to create and deliver interdepartmental cost control programs and sustainable solutions. To manage the interface between the clinical and procurement functions and thereby drives change, innovative procurement practice and contract compliance to drive out costs and improve patient care.   • Reporting to the Clinical Procurement Advisor, the post holder is responsible for making the vital link between Clinicians and Procurement. To enable informed, best value decision making in relation to clinical products, to create and deliver interdepartmental cost control programs and sustainable solutions.
  • To manage the interface between the clinical and procurement functions and thereby drives change, innovative procurement practice and contract compliance to drive out costs and improve patient care.
  • To provide clinical support and advice to the procurement team and liaises with colleagues at all levels to ensure compliance in the use of agreed standardised products, ensuring the range of items within catalogues is rationalised to an optimum level.
  • To work collaboratively with Suppliers and Product Evaluation Groups to access and change products to support the delivery of the Trust's Green Plan and Cost Improvement Plan.
