Full Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic clinical psychologist to join the Adult Psychology Service.

As part of the Dorset Adult Psychology Service, you will work with other friendly and dedicated psychologists/therapists to provide specialist psychological services for adults CMHTs in Dorset.

The role is diverse and allows opportunities to develop your own individual therapy skills, work on service development, continue with your professional development, and work with a range of really skilled professionals who are all passionate about working with adults. Clinical work covers a whole range of different problems with which patients may present, as well as skilled and often complex assessments. Consultation and supervision of other professionals from within the OPP team, as well as the wider MDT is a regular part of our role.

This is a full-time post of up to 37.5 hours per week (job share considered) and is based at Hahnemann House, Bournemouth but this post also requires working at other locations across East Dorset.

Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check., Skilled in assessment, formulation, and in the delivery of appropriate highly specialisedprogrammes of care, including psychotherapy, where highly complex facts must beconsidered, and where expert opinion may differ.

Provide highly specialised advice to clients, their families and carers where appropriate, andto staff of the community team and other organisations where involved in care.

The psychologist will support the Poole, Purbeck, Wimborne, Christchurch andBournemouth Adult Community Mental Health Teams.

The psychologist will be responsible for developing highly specialised programmes of care.Judgements need to be made involving highly complex facts or situations, which require theanalysis, interpretation and comparison of a range of options.
