Full Job Description
The post is available up to full time depending on candidate preference. There is currently temporary funding, however a permanent Band 7 Clinical Psychologist role is being developed. It's a great opportunity to gain experience in a specialised area of neuropsychology with expert supervision, as well as general neuropsychology experience. The role involves assessment, formulation and treatment of patients with brain tumours, with the possibility of also supporting patients with neurological conditions. There is individual, peer and group supervision, CPD, research/audit and service development available. We offer flexibility for some home working, depending on service need., Core features of the roles will include: · Working under supervision of a Consultant Neuropsychologist to provide high quality psychological formulation and intervention for patients with functional neurological disorder · Psychological assessment, use of outcome measures, and report-writing · Providing interventions with supervision from a Consultant Neuropsychologist · Working with people who have complex needs which can present/lead to challenging situations or behaviours and risk. · Contributing to service development and evaluation projects, As a Trust we remain bold and ambitious with plans for both service and system collaborative transformation over the coming years to improve the health and wellbeing of our local people through high quality care. · Previous experience of working with adults with physical, cognitive or mental health problems is essential. · Previous experience of working with functional neurological disorder would be an advantage., · Post holder may be required to work with clients who are highly distressed, anxious or hostile and will experience sensitive situations frequently. · Working independently, with regular supervision · To contribute to/conduct audits and service evaluation/research projects · Contributing to teaching and training · Good organisational skills as well as an ability to work to deadlines and produce high quality work · The ability to cope with psychologically distressing patient information is essential
