Do you have a passion and enthusiasm for supporting young people to improve their mental health and reach their potential?, Central Manchester CAMHS have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Psychologist to join our Partnership team offering mental health support to children and young people up to 18 years. Newly qualified Clinical Psychologists will be well supported via supervision, CPD and opportunities to train and develop within a team that highly values psychological formulation and evidence based interventions. Working with children and families presenting with a range of mental health challenges, you will have opportunity to develop core clinical skills in assessment, formulation, therapy, consultation and supervision of others. We offer a robust supervision and development structure in terms of psychological therapies training within the Trust and across Greater Manchester to access specialist training in line with your own and the team's needs. Clinical psychology is well integrated and valued both within the team and within the wider MFT CAMHS directorate under the Director of Psychological Services. Central Manchester CAMHS delivers services in line with the Thrive framework and sees service user feedback and participation as key components of service delivery and development., To ensure the development, systematic provision, coordination and evaluation of a high-quality specialist psychology assessment and intervention to young people referred to the team. Responsibilities may include:

  • Assessment and intervention with children, teenagers, young adults, and families
  • Work with schools, colleges and other community-based professionals working with children, teenagers, and young adults.
  • Consultation, support, and provision of psychological advice
  • Utilising research skills for audit, policy and service development and research
  • Staff training
  • Liaison and effective teamwork will be required with staff from wider health, community, and education as appropriate
  • Support the development of an evidence base for relevant conditions and outcomes affecting patients treated with our services.
