Full Job Description
The Children's Autism and ADHD assessment team are looking for a Clinical Psychologist to work in our assessment pathway. Whilst experience is beneficial, we are keen to find a Clinical Psychologist who is passionate about neurodiversity and who wants to support young people through a positive assessment process.
Your role will be to complete Autism and ADHD assessments as part of the MDT and at times take the lead clinician role. You will be supported by the Senior Clinical Psychologist as well as senior clinicians in the wider team. The team made up of Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Specialist Nurses and Community Paediatricians.
There will also be the opportunity to contribute to training and education, work alongside partner organisations and support the development of pre and post diagnostic work., The main duties of this role include -
+ Undertaking Autism assessments
+ Undertaking ADHD assessments
+ Completing other standardised assessments as part of the overall assessment process e.g. Cognitive assessments
+ Working as part of a Multi-disciplinary team
+ Support development of pre and post diagnostic work
+ Support the development of training and education to partner agencies
+ Attend regular supervision with the Senior Clinical Psychologist
+ Attend multi-disciplinary team meetings
+ Travel between sites
+ Computer based tasks e.g. report writing, NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
Probationary Period
This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).
High Cost Area Supplement - Fringe
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £1,258 to a maximum of £2,122 p.a. pro rata for part time)., The post-holder will be a post-graduate qualified Clinical Psychologist with HCPC registration. This post is suitable for a newly qualified Clinical Psychologist who is looking to work with Neurodivergent Children and Young People.
The post holder will provide clinical assessments of Autism and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) for Children and Young people. They will within the multi-disciplinary team to provide evidenced based assessments in line with NICE guidance and be expected to be the lead practitioner for some assessments.
The post-holder will contribute to wider muti-agency discussions and meetings to discuss individual cases and collaborative working across Community Paediatrics and partner service e.g. CAMHS
The post-holder will contribute to service development and research under the supervision of the Senior Clinical Psychologist to continuously work towards providing an improved service to the children and young people in Essex. This may include pre and post diagnostic work as well as training to key partners such as education settings.
