Full Job Description

We are looking for Newly Qualified or Principal Clinical Psychologists who shares our vision to work within our urgent care pathway, specifically in our Enhanced Support and Psychiatric Liaison (ESL) service.
The ESL service provides urgent care in the community for young people whose primary care needs include risk management and stabilisation. You will work closely with the community CAMH teams and provide intensive support for young people and families with a focus on reducing risk and promoting stabilisation. In addition, the postholder will work into the acute hospitals providing psychiatric liaison where young people may present at A&E.
A core part of this role will be to provide supervision to the wider ESL team to ensure that urgent care needs are supported by robust psychological formulations, and the team are given the best support to manage highly emotional work. You will also provide consultation and training to the wider Children's Services e.g. the acute teams to promote psychological and systemic thinking across the system.
We aspire to offer families a service that is built on compassion, social connection, and participation with our peers and parent peers, and a service that is understanding of the need to work in partnership with the wider network of education, social care and 3rd sector services in order to deliver support for families based on their needs., There is the opportunity to become part of a multidisciplinary therapies team within the ESL team. Other team members include Systemic Psychotherapy who work alongside the Mental Health Nursing, Social Work and Psychiatry team.
The post-holder would work directly with young people and their families providing a range of assessments and therapeutic work. You would also provide consultation and training for the clinical team to ensure that psychological thinking and formulation is at the core of service delivery.
Supervision from a Clinical Lead Psychologist will be provided and training will be arranged where needed.
