Full Job Description

We are excited to be offering an opportunity for a keen, creative clinical, counselling or psychotherapist to join our service on a fixed term one year contract, either on a full or part time basis. We are looking for a psychological professional who is passionate about working with cancer patients and/or within acute clinical health settings, and enjoy working with both patient and staff groups. The post holder will be joining a supportive and passionate group of psychologists who are interested in providing compassionate evidence based psychological support to people living with cancer, and to co-design and co-deliver innovative interventions for all patients accessing the service.
We will consider applications from pre-registration psychologists who are expecting to receive their qualification within 6 months of starting their role with us., To provide specialist psychological input (individual, family and group input) to patients referred to Cancer Psychological Therapies.
To support the service in managing its waiting list.
To provide Level 2 Clinical Discussion Groups for Cancer Nurse Specialists, and to contribute to delivering Level 2 training across NEL.
To offer staff support and consultation to members of the wider oncology, haematology and palliative care teams at BHRUT., This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).
Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
