Full Job Description

The Clinical Psychologist will be a key member of our independent eating disorder day treatment unit, providing psychological assessment, therapy, and support to individuals with eating disorders. The successful candidate will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based interventions aimed at promoting recovery and improving patients' psychological well-being., 1. Psychological Assessment and Treatment:

· Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments of patients with eating disorders.

· Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based practices.

· Provide a range of psychological therapies, including cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), and other relevant interventions.

· Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.

2. Multidisciplinary Team Collaboration:

· Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, medical directors, dietitians, nurses, and therapists, to provide integrated care.

· Participate in regular case review meetings and contribute to the development and adjustment of comprehensive treatment plans.

· Foster a collaborative environment, promoting effective communication and teamwork.

3. Patient and Family Engagement:

· Engage with patients and their families, providing clear and compassionate communication regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and progress.

· Offer psychological support and education to patients and families, addressing concerns and promoting understanding of eating disorders.

· Advocate for patient-centred care, ensuring that patients' rights and dignity are respected.

4. Clinical Governance and Quality Improvement:

· Ensure compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations and standards, including those set by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

· Contribute to clinical governance processes, ensuring the delivery of high-quality and safe psychological care.

· Participate in audits, quality improvement initiatives, and the development of clinical policies and procedures.

conditions., · Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy or equivalent) with full registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

· Extensive experience in the psychological treatment of eating disorders.

· Strong clinical and diagnostic skills.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

· Commitment to patient-centred care and continuous quality improvement.

Desirable:

· Additional training or certification in eating disorder treatment, CBT, DBT, or related therapeutic approaches.

· Experience in a similar role within a day treatment or inpatient setting.

· Research experience with publications in relevant psychological or medical journals.

The Lilac Tree Clinic is offering the right candidate an exciting opportunity to join our new Eating Disorders Day Treatment Clinic.

The clinic is a newly formed service that will be providing evidenced based day treatment interventions for adults with eating disorders through a specialist multi-disciplinary team.

Our aim is to bring together and develop a strong group of clinicians who are compassionate, able, and motivated to form a highly effective team, dedicated to improving the lives of those with eating disorders.

· Provide education and training to staff on psychological aspects of eating disorders.

· Mentor junior clinical staff and support their professional development.

· Participate in educational sessions for patients and families on psychological aspects of eating disorders.

6. Research and Development:

· Stay updated with the latest research and advancements in the field of eating disorders and psychology.

· Promote and participate in research activities, contributing to the advancement of knowledge and treatment practices.

· Integrate new research findings into clinical practice to enhance patient care., This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it

will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring

Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.

UK Registration

Applicants must have current UK professional registration.

One day per week (8 hours)

Day Rate: £260/day
