Full Job Description

The post holder will be a key member of the multidisciplinary health care team and will provide highly specialist psychological assessments and treatments to those experiencing behavioural, emotional and psychological challenges linked to their Cystic Fibrosis condition and / or their treatment regimen with the aim of improving treatment outcomes and the patient experience. Together with PCFT colleagues the post holder will routinely connect with our small cohort of paediatric patients through regular clinic and annual review appointments and will offer support to all families on diagnosis or transfer into the area. They will develop group interventions and provide bespoke individualised support to children and families as issues arise., To develop and deliver psychological support and a range of evidence based psychological treatments to the children, young people and families cared for by the PCFT in line with service requirements. This involves the development, refinement and provision of highly specialist psychological assessments and treatments of children and young people experiencing behavioural, emotional and psychological challenges linked to their cystic fibrosis condition and / or their treatment regimen.
To lead the PCFT's research to evaluate the efficacy, efficiency and acceptability of the assessments and treatments it offers. This will involve working as a clinician within the PCFT whilst pursuing opportunities to undertake important, high quality, clinically relevant research into the psychological aspects of cystic fibrosis within the paediatric population.
