Full Job Description

Fantastic opportunity for a Clinical Psychologist with a passion for working with older People. Whether you're experienced or newly qualified. We want to hear from you (B7 preceptorships will be considered)

The successful candidate will be a part of a vibrant and growing Older Peoples Psychological Therapies Secondary Care provision in Stockport.The role is interesting, varied, and diverse, working with a variety of presenting problems, undertaking complex psychological assessments and interventions, working with MDTs to develop collaborative trauma-informed formulations that support staff and inform patient care.There are a lot of great opportunities to make a difference.The post is part time (33 hrs) and will involve working within our Older Peoples Secondary Care Mental Health Services, as a service we are supportive, devoted, and compassionate clinicians. The post will predominantly involve working with a friendly and compassionate OPCMHT and female organic ward.

To provide a qualified specialist clinical psychology service for older people within the Older People's CMHT and 10 bedded female organic ward.

The role involves direct and indirect work. The post holder will manage their own clinical caseload, and provide specialist assessments, formulations and interventions (including neuropsychology assessments).

A key function of the role will be to staff to develop a psychological understanding and context for service users and carers.

Operating in an integrated and inclusive style you will be contributing to the multidisciplinary work through case formulation, consultation, training, supervision and joint working to support the development of psychological thinking, skills, knowledge, and individual care planning.

The post holder will propose and implement evidence-based practice, utilising research skills for audit and service developments.

The services have close links with the Manchester, Lancaster and Liverpool doctorate training programmes and we host trainee placements.

The post holder may provide clinical supervision to staff and will receive regular clinical supervision from an experienced clinical psychologist.

In addition, there is opportunity to receive peer support from other older people's clinical psychologists working across the Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust footprint.
