Full Job Description

Are you a compassionate and resourceful Clinical Psychologist looking to embark on a new challenge?

We, in the Salisbury Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), are looking for a Clinical Psychologist to join our team to work in both our Getting More Help and Eating Disorders pathways.

This a unique opportunity and mixed role where you'll be spending part of the week working closely with our Specialist Eating Disorders Team. Our Eating Disorder clinic is a specialist service working with young people and their families in the support of recovery from eating disorders. It's a specialist multidisciplinary service aimed at providing the best evidence based, client centred service.

The other days, you'll be with our Getting More Help Multidisciplinary Team, where you'll be supporting children and young people experiencing anxiety, depression, PTSD and trauma informed OCD. We'll need you to have excellent communication and organisational skills, and a keenness to be part of a busy and vibrant pathway; it is a real chance to develop and expand your clinical expertise across a multitude of areas.

We undertake our clinical work on a face-to-face basis, but there is an opportunity for you to complete some of your administration at home for an afternoon or morning.

Main duties of the job

Working alongside our multi-disciplinary team, which consists of Nurses, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Family therapists, Psychologists, Psychotherapists and Consultant Psychiatrists, there will be plenty of opportunities to learn from one-another and share expertise.

On a day-to-day basis, you will be undertaking generic mental health assessments and risk assessments for children and young people (CYP). Depending on the needs of the YP, this could either be on an urgent or routine basis. Working collaboratively with CYP's families/other agencies, you will develop holistic plans of cares which are evidence based.

You'll also hold a clinical caseload of children and young people who require a psychology intervention and will also be providing consultation/support to other members of the team to discuss possible CYP that may require a psychology intervention and offering clinical supervision.

This is a leadership role which involves both clinical responsibilities and having a strategic oversight looking at ensuring best processes and support is given to service users and staff; being a fixed term position, this presents a real opportunity for you to take the first step into a Senior role.
