Full Job Description

This post is 50:50 split between research and clinical commitments. Successful applicants will contribute to the delivery of both the inpatient and outpatient services, including theatre sessions, ward based care and supporting outpatient clinics, as well as the opportunity to attend regional Multidisciplinary Team meetings (MDTs) and collaborate with clinicians from across the region. There are no Obstetric/General Gynaecology commitments for this post.

This is an exciting opportunity for motivated individuals, interested in pursuing careers in Gynaecological Oncology to join a reputable and established team of clinicians and researchers. Based at the QE Hospital in Gateshead, the Northern Gynaecological Oncology Centre (NGOC) offers experience in developing extensive clinical and specialised surgical skills, in addition to pursuit of clinical research. NGOC offers a broad range of surgery, and is famed for its ultra-radical surgical repertoire, and early adoption of innovation. It is a European Society of Gynaecological Oncology (ESGO) accredited Centre of Excellence for Ovarian Cancer.

This post is for 12 months initially and is extendable depending on the research project. The successful applicant will be given the opportunity to develop and lead on clinical research projects which will lead to relevant publications.

It is expected that shortlisted candidates will be interviewed in the week commencing the 28th of October 2024 or the 4th of November, with the post-holder starting in January 2025., Based in the North East of England we provide a range of hospital and community health services from our leading facilities, including the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Blaydon urgent care centre and Bensham Hospital, all within Gateshead.
