Full Job Description

The primary role of this post is to conduct clinical research under the supervision of both NHS and University consultant staff, and in conjunction with clinical research nurses and trial coordinators. The research will include clinical trials and other clinical studies requiring direct patient contact, clinical epidemiology studies using existing databases, and working with translational laboratory research groups in the University. Clinical trial work will cover all aspects of investigator initiated and commercially sponsored study conduct, including setup, recruitment, evaluation and reporting.

o MRCS/MRCP/MRCPath or equivalent qualification

o Completion of a relevant Core Programme for Specialty Training or equivalent

o Able to deal with general emergency admissions (on-call)

o Logbook indicating validated experience of appropriate range and number of clinical procedures

Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Research FellowinMedicine (Vasculitis and Lupus) at Addenbrooke's Hospital, part of Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

This post is available for a period of 12 months in the first instance commencing 05 January 2025.

The Nephrology Department at Addenbrooke's Hospital part of Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CUH) is a great place to work. We offer a number of specialist services and aim to provide excellent care in a research focused setting.

The vasculitis and lupus service provides ongoing inpatient and outpatient care for approximately 2000 patients with these disorders from throughout the United Kingdom. The clinical service works closely with a research group that conducts clinical trials and related studies for vasculitis and lupus. The service is supported by three NHS Consultants and four Specialist Nurses and works closely with colleagues from the Department of Medicine, University of Cambridge, both in the clinical service and in research.

We have a 23 bedded in-patient ward for nephrology which includes vasculitis and lupus patients and provide a consult service for referrals from other parts of the hospital for patients with severe inflammatory diseases. which offers inpatient dialysis. Our inpatient work covers the full range of renal pathology.
