Full Job Description

As post-holder, you will play a key role in our many ground-breaking research studies. Our strong links with the Norwich Research Park and the University of East Anglia, as well as colleagues around the region, means you will have the opportunity to network and share knowledge and findings.
As a Clinical Research Nurse, you will be responsible for assessing and managing the care pathways for patients and/or carer's participating in clinical trials. You will be people focused in your approach; recruiting, educating and monitoring those in the trial, and will collect and document your findings accurately., 1. To work according to ICH GCP guidelines and research governance standards for clinical trials and current Standard Operating Procedures.
2. To manage, with the assistance and support of senior colleagues, a range of clinical trial protocols.
3. To identify, screen and recruit participants into research studies according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria to ensure the effective achievement of study aims and monitoring of their condition throughout participation.
4. To register/randomise participants into trials.
5. To identify barriers to recruitment and to raise awareness of these, reporting to the Senior Research Team/Lead Research Nurse. To support action plans as required.

Travelling to work
Staff parking is available onsite; however, this is limited during core working hours. We have more capacity in the evening and at weekends and can usually provide spaces during those hours.
We look to allocate these spaces fairly. Our Travel Office have a set of criteria that staff must meet in order to qualify. If you qualify for a space, you may be placed on a waiting list if we are at full capacity.
The NNUH is served by a number of public buses, and we offer generously discounted monthly passes with First Bus & Konect.
The Costessey Park and Ride runs regularly each day from 06:30 (from P&R) to 20:45 (from NNUH) and this service is free for NHS staff. There is a regular Thickthorn P&R service as well which is free. Applications to the Travel Office are required for this service. We also have a discounted service from the airport P&R if you purchase a bundle. Please see Konect website for further details.
The NNUH host multiple bicycle racks and a salary sacrifice scheme. We also benefit from a Beryl station onsite.

DBS

You will have excellent communication skills with a positive and flexible approach to the workload. You should be a qualified Registered Nurse, have some band 5 experience, experience of working in a hospital setting, or working towards a health/research qualification (or have demonstrable equivalent experience.)
Clinical Research is a highly regulated field, the role involves using an in-depth knowledge of trial protocols and their application in practice, alongside a working knowledge and compliance with the regulations. You should therefore have a good understanding of research procedures, documentation and policies, as well as an awareness of local, national and international research governance issues.
