Full Job Description

We are looking for a Research Nurse to join our team of generic research team at the Ipswich site of east Suffolk and North Essex Foundation Trust. The role includes supporting studies across a wide range of specialities across the Trust.

The Research and Development department at ESNEFT is an established clinical research unit hosting a variety of studies from NIHR portfolio and charitable funded studies, to commercially sponsored clinical trials of investigational medicinal products (CTIMPs). This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic multi-disciplinary team.

You must be methodical and well organised in order to undertake research activities including following study protocols, clinical assessments, case report form completion, daily management and co-ordination of study participants. You will work across a range of studies including observational research, novel drug therapy and clinical interventions.

The post will further develop specialist research skills under the guidance of the Team leaders and senior team members. We are keen to invest in and develop our staff and a variety of training opportunities will be provided.

You will work within the Generic Research Team. You will support the assessment and management of the pathways for patients participating in Research studies across many specialities within the team. This will involve the recruitment, education and monitoring of trial participants and the collection and documentation of accurate data, including observing and monitoring for side effects during the course of the trial.

You will support the management of a caseload of clinical trial participants and work with others in the generic research and wider multi-disciplinary team to provide the highest standard of patient care in line with research protocols. You will ensure that any research undertaken safeguards the well being of the participants and is conducted according to the principles of ICH Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
