Analyse a range of solid cancer tests, including NGS panels and whole genome sequencing
2. Somatic variant interpretation
3. Deliver and maintain a high-quality diagnostic service to regional oncology services
4. Provide advice to clinicians and colleagues
5. Ensure the continuous improvement and development of laboratory services
6. Ensure the continued ISO:15189 compliance of the laboratory using the quality management system
7. Data and variant interpretation checking, and authorisation of solid cancer testing reports
8. Liaise with clinical teams and communicate results at Genomics Tumour Advisory Board meetings
9. Assist with Healthcare Scientist recruitment, training and supporting continual personal development

The Cambridge Genomics Laboratory is recruiting Clinical Scientists to the solid cancer team. Final year STP trainees, pre-registration trainees nearing registration and senior scientists from a research/academia background with relevant experience will also be considered. HCPC registered Scientists with suitable experience and qualifications will be appointed at Band 7, and those working towards registration will be appointed at Band 6 until registered, subject to agreed departmental timelines.
