We are recruiting for a Clinical Charge Nurse who shares our ambition and vision to deliver the Best of Care by the Best People and has the drive

This post is an exciting opportunity to join a team in opening a brand-new unit which will be the first of its kind here at Medway.
We are looking for highly motivated and skilled band 6 nurses to join the new respiratory unit which is an acute 26 bedded unit providing
specialist care to respiratory patients., The successful candidate will be supporting and leading the nursing team as a key member of the multidisciplinary team. They will be directly
involved in the co-ordination of patient care, ensuring that assessment, planning and implementation of care is of the highest standard in support
of the trusts vision of the "best of care"., Our successful Sister/ Charge Nurse will be able to work alongside the existing team in a leadership role to assist in the enhancement and
development of Respiratory services, with a particular focus on the delivery of high-quality care within a busy and acute environment. You will be
in charge of the clinical shift and dedicated to ensuring the planning, implementation and evaluation of high standards of care embedding the
Trusts behaviours and values.
Applicants must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well a passion for improvement and be committed to the development
of your team. You will need to be calm and resilient with the ability to deal with challenging situations ensuring you are able to provide support to
junior members of the team and maintain patient safety. Successful candidates will actively assist and support the ward manager to ensure the
effective management of the ward and deputize in their absence. You must be flexible in being able to work as part of a 24-hour service.
The unit will be caring for patients with complex respiratory conditions and as a trust we will be committed in supporting your development
professionally and personally.

The successful candidates will need a minimum of 1-2 years' experience in respiratory medicine and must have proven knowledge with the use of
non-invasive ventilation, compact nasal high flow system oxygen, chest drain management, tracheostomy management and relevant other skills
to treat a specialist respiratory patient.
The successful candidate will also require a minimum of 6 months experience at a band 6 level and will be required to support less experience
nurses with the respiratory specialism so a good knowledge of respiratory care.
