Full Job Description

Do you have a keen interest in surgical emergency care?

We are looking for experienced registered nurse to come and join our Surgical Assessment Unit.

The unit accepts patient referral from GP, walk in clinic, WMAS, emergency department and other units for surgical specialities such as general surgery, urology, vascular, ENT and maxfax.

We welcome applications from those who are enthusiastic and passionate about delivering first class care. Attention to detail and excellent time management qualities are essential.

Informal discussions and visits are welcomed.

Please note this post is not suitable for applicants who are required to undertake the OSCE training programme. Applicants who do not have current valid UK NMC registration will not be considered for this post.

1. Actinaccordancewith NMCCodeandbeaccountableforown practiceand professional actions at all times.

2. Contributetothedevelopmentoftherolesofnurses,midwives,nursingassociatesinthe best interests of patients and these professions inaccordance with the NMCCode.

3. Maintain an identifiable clinical presence, and when occasion requires, work in practice undertaking relevant clinical activities to support teams, maintain own clinicalcompetency and to support staff in developing clinical practice.

4. Demonstrateclinicalpracticeexpertisethroughpersonalpracticeandbyleadingbyexample.

5. Actasaclinicalandprofessionalrole modelforeffectiveclinicalleadershipenablingand facilitating others to take forward initiatives., 1. Liaise with the Clinical Education Lead, ModernMatrons,Ward/Department Managers to identify the development and training requirements of nursing, midwifery, nursing associate and healthcare support staff within designated clinical areas according to service requirements and individual needs.

2. Support staff with mandatory training through a variety of resources such as delivering classroom based sessions and e-learning and monitor compliance

3. Workcollaborativelywithotherprofessionalgroupstomaximisedevelopment opportunities and interprofessional learning opportunities.

4. Actasanadvocateforlearnersinpractice,working inpartnership with managersand practice learning support staff to promote environments conducive to learning.

5. LiaisewiththeClinicalEducationLeadandModernMatronstoescalateanyconcerns that affect the practice learning environment or experience of learners in practice.

6. Communicateandpresent information,written orverbal,formallyorinformally as appropriate.
