Full Job Description
Are you an excellent teacher and interested in working for a Russell Group University? We have an exciting opportunity in the School of Medicine and Population Health for someone looking to join our dedicated Clinical Skills Educators. Our team instruct our Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing and Physician Associate students. We strongly encourage applications from individuals with a degree in Medicine, Nursing, or another healthcare field who are registered with a professional body like GMC, NMC, or HPC. (A licence to practise is not required.) Our Clinical Skills team is led by the Academic Lead for Clinical Skills. It leads all aspects of clinical skills training within the MBChB degree. This is governed by our MBChB Committee and initiatives are determined by the regulatory body, the General Medical Council. You will plan and deliver clinical skills workshops sessions to medical, nursing and dental students, ensuring that we meet the outcomes of the curricula and requirements of the professional regulating bodies. You will:
- Be involved in the planning and implementation of sessions using high-fidelity simulation manikins, including the use of Sim Man.
- Regularly review and implement new teaching methods as appropriate.
- Play a role in the assessment of undergraduate medical, dental and nursing students.
- Reflect on your own teaching and engagement, and maintain a responsibility towards continuous professional development.
