Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an HCPC registered Physiotherapist to join our team as a clinical specialist physiotherapist in MSK Outpatients at the Leicester Royal Infirmary.

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for the assessment, treatment and management of a complex, adult musculoskeletal caseload using highly specialist clinical skills, enhanced clinical reasoning and decision making.
  • Experience in the assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of adult musculoskeletal conditions, including trauma, post-operative cases, long term conditions and soft tissue injuries, to inform treatment and patient management decisions is required.
  • The successful candidate will also be responsible for managing and developing the current fracture clinic physiotherapy service, including clinical oversight of the physiotherapy role in the consultant led external fixation clinic.
  • The successful candidate will also be the clinical lead for our GP self-referral service, working closing with the current designated therapy team leader and other members of our Physiotherapy team.
  • These clinical roles will be completed alongside the responsibility of the line manager for band 5 or band 6 Physiotherapists.
  • There will also be opportunity to help improve our service with involvement of projects that align with our therapy strategy objectives.

Our new strategy, developed with the support and feedback of colleagues, patients, and partners, is our compass for the next seven years (2023-2030).
  • We have four primary goals:
  • high-quality care for all,
  • being a great place to work,
  • partnerships for impact, and
  • research and education excellence
  • And we will embed health equality in all we do - taking active steps to reduce the avoidable differences in healthcare that some people face, working in partnership with communities. Our strategy is underpinned by new values and we will work to ensure they are an everyday reality for all:
  • we are compassionate,
  • we are proud,
  • we are inclusive, and
  • we are one team
  • This is an exciting moment as we look to the future with clarity on what we already do well and where we need to focus our energies to make an even bigger difference for the people we serve.
