Full Job Description

We are recruiting for a Clinical Specialist Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist to join our team.

This role offers the opportunity to work across our musculoskeletal pathway, developing skills within your area of interest. Currently we have team members working split roles within the MSK Physiotherapy treatment team as well as First Contact Practitioner roles, within chronic pain or in development roles within our MSK triage services.

The variety and ability to drive your career progression promotes positive wellbeing, preventing burnout and ensuring aspirations are met with positive support. In comparison to others our teams are much smaller, serving a specific geographical location. As such, we work closely across our pathway with ample opportunity to educate and support others within the teams.

Our team provides a robust supervision structure and guidance through portfolio development to ensure competencies are met at each level and most readily within our First Contact Practitioner split roles.

An excellent candidate will demonstrate considerable MSK clinical experience as well as an ability to educate and support others, to understand the NHS and the leadership required within in order to work across the system and a wish to contribute to quality improvement and research to provide quality services for the people of the Isle of Wight., Provide high levels of clinical expertise as a specialist MSK Physiotherapist working systemwide to support the MSK pathway, providing patients and colleagues educational support and clinical guidance to meet individual needs.

Deputise for line manager, taking responsibility for the necessary operational & clinical leadership. High regard for clinical operations and governance, assuring high standards of patient centred care. Maintaining effective, resilient, and integrated care to provide a seamless MSK patient pathway.

Act as a source of expertise for the management of specialist conditions across the Trust and wider healthcare community, working collaboratively with all members of the multidisciplinary and management teams. Driving service development & quality improvement projects to facilitate best care to strive for excellence

Support the Physiotherapy Professional Lead in providing strategic professional leadership & development opportunities for Physiotherapists across the organisation & act as an experienced and skilled MSK resource for the service and multi-disciplinary team in the specialism of musculoskeletal medicine.

Ensure appropriate management of a personal caseload and that of the wider team caseload, with onward referral to Tier 2 triage services, when required.

Ensure a high standard of training is delivered. Facilitate & participate in reflective practice, clinical reasoning, audit & research projects within the department to ensure ongoing clinical effectiveness.
