Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Sheffield Teaching hospitals NHS trust for an experienced hand therapist to join the multidisciplinary burns, orthopaedics and plastics team as a Clinical Specialists in Hand Therapy. The vacancy is open to both Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists.
The post will include treating acute injuries and the rehabilitation of the upper limb, you will also be delivering a specialist clinic for wrist fractures alongside the consultants.
This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated therapist to develop the role of clinical specialist in hand therapy alongside other clinical specialist within the team.
The post holder will continue to develop and deliver a high level of therapy through a team of Occupational Therapist and Physiotherapist to the Sheffield hand unit, working closely with the Consultants and other member of the MDT., Accountable for the delivery of high quality therapy care within the defined clinical area and working with and supporting specialities within the team.
Provide clinical and professional leadership to Therapy colleagues in the speciality area.
Responsible for providing expert clinical practice with advanced clinical reasoning, training and support to staff.
Lead evaluation and development of clinical practice within the specialism ensuring compliance with National and local guidelines and frameworks.
Responsible for clinical standards and evidence based practice through audit, clinical effectiveness and research activity.
Assist and support Clinical Service Managers and Lead Therapists in the service in the improvement and modernisation of services.
