Full Job Description

The successful candidate will work in inpatients at Walkergate Park as a Physiotherapy Clinical Support Assistant and assist in the delivery of rehabilitation to patients as guided by the qualified therapists. This will involve working with patients with complex neurological conditions including those with cognitive and behavioural difficulties. The successful candidate will work independently with patients to carry out rehabilitation programmes as directed by the qualified therapists as well as joint working alongside the therapists.
The successful candidate will be supported to develop their skills in this area through regular supervision, in service training and joint working with Physiotherapists, and other assistants in the team., The main duties of the job are:
To assist in the delivery of physiotherapy care to service users who have a variety of needs, diverse presentations and a range of mental health, learning disabilities and / or neurological conditions under the direction of a registered physiotherapist.
The overall responsibility for the service user remains, at all times with the registered physiotherapist..
To accept onto caseload, patients allocated by Physiotherapy.
Provide treatment according to set treatment protocols after assessment and handover by qualified staff and monitor patient progress ensuring regular feedback is given to therapists and nurses.
To work as a member of the multidisciplinary team.
To have a key role in supporting therapists in the provision of hydrotherapy, including preparation for sessions and maintenance of the pool area.
To provide compassionate care that is based on empathy, kindness, respect and dignity.
To actively engage with supervision and appraisal process as identified in Trust Policy.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Band 3 Clinical Support Assistant to join our team at Walkergate Park. At Walkergate Park we provide specialist neuro rehabilitation for people with complex neurological conditions including brain injury, stroke and Multiple Sclerosis.
