As an Associate Practitioner you will work in collaboration with Biomedical Scientists and other colleagues assisting in the provision of a diagnostic service. Duties include preparation, operation, monitoring and maintenance of complex laboratory equipment, and will include tasks of a practical nature for which a high level of manual dexterity and careful attention to detail is needed. You will also be expected to participate in the provision of an out of hours service as part of an average 37.5 hour working week - including evenings, nights, weekends and Bank/Public holidays.

We are looking for a highly motivated, experienced and enthusiastic individual to join our Blood Sciences Team. Successful applicants will work within a multidisciplinary Pathology team (Biochemistry, Haematology, Blood Transfusion). You must possess a relevant qualification and previous clinical laboratory experience is essential.

Participation in the weekend, bank holiday, early and late and night shifts is compulsory.

The post is based at The Princess Royal Hospital (Telford), although candidates may be required to cover absences cross-site at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.

Candidates should hold either the NVQ Level 3 in Clinical Laboratory Support, or IBMS certificate of achievement Part II, or an equivalent qualification in a relevant science based subject.
