Full Job Description

The Audiology Department is looking for a caring and person with good communication and organisational skills to join our team. We will provide training for you to become an Audiology Assistant where you will work closely with our Audiologists to provide help and aftercare to our patients who wear hearing aids.

This post will be a development opportunity and once training and competency has been achieved then you will move to a Band 3 Audiology Assistant position (approximately 12 month training period).

The role is very rewarding and will involve helping patients who have a broken hearing aid or need further aftercare. Shropshire Audiology is in a rural county so to make things easier for the patient we have several clinics in the community and offer home visits as well as appointments at the main Royal Shrewsbury and Princess Royal Hospitals.

Our Audiology department is keen on developing staff and where possible providing training opportunities.

There is one position vacant and this post will be based at The Princess Royal Hospital, Telford.

Main duties of the job

  • Signposting patients to other support organisations

  • Working for your organisation

Within Audiology we believe strongly in delivering high quality care and have a dedicated, friendly and helpful team. We work closely with multi agency organisations which is key to giving our patients the best care.

It is important that we provide a professional and efficient service.

Residential accommodation is provided at SATH by a local Housing Group Rooftops. The accommodation is fully furnished and within easy reach of the town centre, local schools, supermarkets and leisure facilities. Other existing Audiology staff live locally or commute to Shropshire from across the West Midlands.
