Full Job Description

The Breast Imaging department is looking for a caring and empathetic person with good organisational skills to join our team to work closely with them and to provide support and care to our patients whilst they are being imaged and support in their aftercare.

Imaging Assistants are essential in order for us to provide the best quality of care for our patients.

This role will involve cross site travel.

Main duties of the job

To assist Radiologists, Radiographers and the Breast Care Nurse with the care of patients in the Breast Imaging Department, during busy breast screening and symptomatic out-patient clinics involving biopsy procedures and intimate examinations.
Care for patients, carers, visitors, and relatives during their visit to the Department.
To act as chaperone in line with Trust policy.
To help with the movement of patients in the examination room.
Assist Radiologists during procedures.
Prepare sterile examination trolleys (Aseptic technique).
Care for patients after procedures, monitor their progress and report back to the supervising Radiologist.
To use the Radiology information system (CRIS) to record the patients Radiology episode.
To maintain associated records, both paper and electronic
To liaise with a wide range of staff caring for the patient.
To work in accordance with strict departmental procedures to ensure right results to right woman.
