Clinical Support - Radiology Assistant

We are looking for an enthusiastic caring person who is passionate about patient care to join our team in the Radiology Department in our Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) in Telford.

The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust has the privilege of developing and running the new service at the first CDC within Shropshire, which opened in October 2023.

Radiology Assistants are an essential part of the Radiology team, working closely with Radiographers to provide scans and X-rays. This post is varied including work in MRI, CT and Ultrasound scanning as well as X-ray.,

• Care for patients, carers, visitors, and relatives during their visit to the Department


• To act as chaperone in line with Trust policy


• To help with the movement of patients in the examination rooms


• To use the Radiology information system (CRIS) to record the patients Radiology episode


• To comply with the Trusts policies


• To maintain associated records, both paper and electronic


• To ensure equipment is used correctly and any faults or concerns are reported to senior staff


• To liaise with a wide range of staff caring for the patients


• To assist with audit projects as required
  
  The successful candidate must be able to participate in the 7 Day Working roster and be able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team. They must have good communication skills, be computer literate and be able to cope with an ever changing workload in order to be reactive to our patients complex needs.
