We are looking for dedicated individuals to work as Band 3 Support Workers. You will commence training on a Band 2 Clinical Support Worker and progress to Band 3 by successfully completing the required competencies, including the nationally recognised Health Care support Worker Care Certificate. This transition is expected within 24 weeks.
Our training programme includes a comprehensive 5-day Health Care Support Worker (HCSW) induction as well as on the job experience and training within your allocated clinical care group. Within your first 12 weeks, we will support you in achieving the core competencies and completing the HCSW programme. You will be awarded the HCSW Care Certificate when you successfully complete this stage.
By the end of your first 24 weeks, you'll complete additional clinical competencies specific to your area of practice. Upon successful completion of at least 75% of all the requirements, you will progress to a Band 3 Clinical Support Worker role.
If you are not on track to complete the criteria, enabling you to progress to a Band 3 Clinical Support Worker, we will discuss alternative options such as extensions in exceptional cases or alternative work as a Band 2 Clinical Support Worker or another Band 2 role in the Trust, subject to availability., This rewarding and responsible role has a direct impact on patients' lives. You will provide vital assistance to patients and support them with their physical and emotional care needs. You will also assist healthcare professionals in the diagnosis, treatment, and care of patients.
If you already have a Care Certificate and you can evidence to us that you have the required competencies, then it may be possible to recruit you directly to Band 3 position.
Our organisation spans across two hospital based sites, the Northern General Hospital and the Central Campus in the city centre and we also provide Community Services. Whilst we are supportive of flexible working this is limited to specific areas where it meets the service needs.
