We have a Clinical Support Worker Higher Level, Therapy Assistant post, to work within the Middlesbrough Therapy Team to provide rehabilitation to patients in the local community.

Successful candidate must have access to a vehicle for work purposes to meet the requirements of the role

South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest teaching hospital trusts in the country, close to the North Yorkshire Moors and within easy reach of Newcastle and Leeds. It comprises two acute hospitals, James Cook University Hospital and Friarage Hospital Northallerton and a number of community hospitals and community services. Therapy services at South Tees NHS trust are also part of the wider Integrated OT service. This is a unique partnership between Health and Social care in South Tees with a commitment to working together, improving the quality of our services and getting rid of existing barriers between health and social services.

Support and in-service training will be provided to develop your skills, knowledge and understanding of the role. There are supervision structures in place to provide support and ensure that you continue to deliver the best possible service to the patients in our care., Working in the community, you will work alongside Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists to implement rehabilitation programmes in patients' own homes, care homes and group settings, working closely with statutory and voluntary services to promote and maintain independence.

As well as completing joint visits with therapists the post holder will be expected to undertake independent visits to implement exercise programmes, complete mobility practice, self-care practice, provide, fit and check equipment as requested by the therapist.

At present the service is provided 5 days a week (Monday to Friday) with no requirement to work weekends. The post does require successful candidates to be able to travel independently within the local community to visit patients at home.

South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust offers leadership and improvement training to all new staff to the Trust; this training programme has been designed to support our leaders in developing their understanding of leadership and management skills.

You will be expected to attend the New and Aspiring leaders programme, and the Foundation Quality Improvement Programme that the Trust delivers. After you complete this one and a half day of training you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities, we offer further in-house courses and bitesize programmes and leadership apprenticeships at level 3,5 and 7
