Full Job Description
Permanent - Part Time 27 hours per week
An opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Support Worker to join Russells Hall Hospital Minor Procedure Rooms and Corbett Hospital Day Surgery Unit.
The post holder will be responsible for providing support to both departments and contribute to the implementation of a high standard and individualised patient care under the direction of a registered practitioner.
GCSE pass or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics are essential. NVQ 2 Level 2 or Diploma Level 2 in Health Care is desirable.
You will need to be able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and communicate effectively with members of the team, patients and relatives. A commitment to undertake in-house training as appropriate is a requirement., 1. To assist in the achievement and maintenance of a high standard of patient care.
2. To attend the patient's basic care requirements and report to the registered practitioner.
3. To assist in the positioning of patients for anaesthesia or surgery.
4. To assist with the collection of specimens, ensuring all relevant documentation is completed accurately according to Trust Policy.
5. To assist with maintaining the general tidiness and cleanliness of the department.
6. To assist the cleaning of clinical equipment as directed by the practitioner in charge.
7. To escort patients from the ward/department area to theatre maintaining patient's dignity and mobility needs.
8. To communicate effectively with all patients to include visually/hearing impaired patients.
9. To assist in observing patients, recording any concerns regarding patient's condition and reporting these to the practitioner in charge.
