Full Job Description

We have several CSW vacancy on ward 2, these don't come up on this ward very often and only vacant as people working on their have progressed and been promoted!

Ward 2 is a 34 bedded elderly care ward, we pride ourselves on compassionate and person centered care. We also work to make relatives and visitors feel comfortable on the ward and all work together as partners in care for the patient.

We welcome applications from experienced clinical support workers (from NHS and private sector) and also welcome applications from people who live the the trust values of Respect Compassion Teamwork and Professionalism.

Part-time and Full-time hours are available, applicants must be willing to work over the twenty-four hour day and have a mixture of shifts (days/nights/weekends).

Assist in undertaking activities of living in accordance with the care plan
prescribed by staff.

These duties will include the delivery of
hygiene care, nutrition and hydration, continence care, pressure area care,
mobility and rehabilitation and offer psychological support.
2. Assist in the taking and recording of patient's observations
3. Report changes to patient's health status to trained nurse for action
4. Support registered nursing staff with clinical treatments and investigations
as appropriate, to the level of knowledge and skill. This may include the
escort of patients to other departments within the hospital and on occasion
to other departments and specialist units off site.
Other Duties
In addition to the clinical element of this role there are also other essential
components that the jobholder will be required to fulfil.
1. Assist in the maintenance of general clerical activities to support the clinical
environment and patient care. These duties will include answering the telephone,
taking and passing on of messages to the relevant person, filing, keeping patient's
bedside records tidy etc.

Attending ward staff meetings and where necessary acting as a ward
representative at specific meetings at the ward managers request
2. Maintain confidentiality in relation to patients be the information obtained either
verbally, written or electronically

Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust provides integrated acute and community Healthcare in the West Midlands serving a population of 260,000 residents.
