Full Job Description
We are looking for a clinical systems manager to work as part of the digital team. The main area of responsibility would be working on the Welsh Nursing Care Record. It is an exciting opportunity to work on a national, innovative, progressive product. The post holder will be responsible for a number of clinical systems, providing a good deal of variety within the role.
It requires working both with the clinical staff and ICT on ensuring both the clinical and technical requirements are delivered. Good people and technical skills are required.
This is a very unique product and considerable experience on all aspects of ICT skills from systems to networks will be experienced by the successful candidates during this period., To contribute to the healthcare of the people of the Cwm Taf Morgannwg area by ensuring that designated Clinical systems, logically grouped, are functioning appropriately and being used at the optimum level. The systems supported may change over a period of time based on board requirements and the grouping will change with the introduction of further clinical systems.
The post-holder will be supported by a small team and any developments will be in line with existing systems and strategies.
They will be required to
+ Manage the service delivery of the clinical information systems.
+ Act as an advocate for and to promote best practice with regard to the clinical information systems.
+ Develop modern working practices maximising benefits from clinical systems and their interaction with other clinical and hospital systems/devices.
+ Be responsible for formulating and monitoring policies and protocols to support the clinical information systems.
Typically the supported systems handle the day to day operations of the departments, and include clinical decision making and patient care systems in use on wards and in clinics. Consequently most of these systems require 24/7 support.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
