Full Job Description

The main role of this post will be to provide excellent inpatient care to the Orthopaedic patients, under the supervision of your Consultant.
Assistance in theatres both trauma and elective. Outpatient clinics fracture and elective. On average, the total number of hours each week will be a maximum of 48 hours, on a full shift pattern with an out-of-hours on-call commitment. The post will be offered for a twelve month fixed term period and may be extended dependent upon service needs.
The post-holder will work in a large and diverse multidisciplinary team providing best inpatient care for both trauma and elective patients. The post-holder will attend theatre and clinic sessions participating at a level appropriate to experience and existing skill levels. The post-holder will be expected to assist in the day to day care of pre- and post-operative patients and the care of critically unwell patients who may need critical care review or admission to one of the critical care wards. The post holder must promote safe and effective handover of patient care in line with Trust Governance. The post holder will be required to actively participate in clinical audit and implement its results and relate these to the Trust and Directorate policies on Clinical Governance.
