Full Job Description

You will join the dedicated R&D teams in Cambridge that create and improve the products behind the company's rapid growth. Our software engineers work on a wide variety of projects and with a diverse toolset. The AI Analysis team focuses on a range of products and software which aim to automate the human analysis process, including the Cyber AI Analyst, as well as a number of other products and the data and infrastructure to support them. Members of the team typically work in one or more areas including Python development, security research and analysis, machine learning research, and cloud architecture. This is a hybrid role, and the expectation would be to work at least 2 days a week in the Cambridge office. As a Cloud Engineer within AI Analysis team, responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Contributing to rapid prototyping of new and innovative ideas to further improve Darktrace's services and offerings,
  • Developing, managing, configuring, and automating systems and services in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Innovation is of paramount importance and as such, creativity in approach is encouraged as much as traditional project-based development.

We welcome applications from engineers who have a solution focused mindset combined with an analytical approach and problem-solving skills. During the interview process you'll be able to demonstrate your ability to program using Python and will show an understanding of writing code in a production environment. Additionally, it's likely that you'll be:
  • Comfortable working autonomously and taking independent decisions as well as having the ability to work cooperatively within a team,
  • Knowledge of key features of Cloud Service Providers,
  • Ability to code to implement essential security measures,
  • Skills in writing, correcting, and debugging code modules,
  • Familiar with Docker,
  • Experience of working with a range of other programming languages such as JavaScript, Go or Rust would also be beneficial but isn't essential.
