Full Job Description

As a UK Cloud Operations Engineer, you will be work in a small, dedicated team, you will be responsible for Network Function Virtualised Infrastructure. This includes the support of both the service and hardware of elements that make up this infrastructure. Specialising in vmware, HPE and Dell. It will be your responsibility to maintain the domain infrastructure throughout its lifecycle to ensure Services are delivered at the required level of availability and performance through pro-active service assurance. You will restore any part of the domain infrastructure to normal service in a timely, safe, and effective manner, as well as providing input to and assist with the introduction of new services and changes to existing infrastructure. In addition to having the appropriate technical abilities, you will need to be customer obsessed with a courteous and professional approach to always provide a 1st class service to our customers. Most of the work will be on a Business-as-usual basis working to strict Service Level Agreements, but you will be required to be a part of a 24/7 on call rota, supporting the core network 365 days a year to provide the technical lead, input, and direction to fault situations.

  • Good knowledge of Mobile Networks
  • Knowledge of Cloud, CAAS/IAAS technologies.
  • Working experience on VMware
  • Working knowledge of Storage, SAN, Network IP and layer 2
  • Experience working in a large, enterprise environment working with problem solving, troubleshooting and analysis processes
  • Good knowledge of automation solution ( Ansible, Git, Python)
  • Preferred (not mandatory) technical certifications:
  • VCTA - VMware Certified Associate
  • VCP - VMware Certified Professional
  • VCAP - VMware Certified Advanced Professional
  • CCNA - Cisco Certified Network Associate
